The task is not to create the new fundamental work, but at least to update the Pokorny 1959 Dictionary by including there Tocharian, Anatolian and other recently discovered data and correcting numerous mistakes. This is the work we can do together. The fact that it will be done online makes it even more valuable.

  • Indo-European vs. other language families
The reconstruction of the Proto-Indo-European language is made not only by comparing different branches of the family, but also by seeking loanwords in the IE languages: substratum lexicon, influence of neighbouring tongues, common roots with other families - this all will be included here.
